Good golly, that's nice! The 'bone purfling on the back is the perfect touch! Is this one a commission? |

Great looking little guitar John. Stella type? You just have to look at it to know it will sound fantastic. You've just got to love the tactile quality of a small body 12 fretter! Colin |

Thanks gents, Yes Stella style, 13.5, 25" scale, Mahogany/Redspruce. My favorite size for a guitar. She'll look and sound nice with a new set of D'Addario PB's on there huh ![]() ![]() |

Looks like you've got another winner there John! I really like that body size, I'll bet it plays great with the slightly shorter scale. Is it sold yet? |

Great looking guitar John. Did you jig up to make the headstock cutouts? I'm interested in how people do it. |

Thanks guys for all the kind remarks. This guitar is going out on the road in a short time to make the rounds of some potential clients. I am hoping to get enough interest to make a small batch of them. As cute as they are, they are not for everybody. The ladder bracing makes a different sound than our x-braced guitars for sure but for guys into old country style blues music, they are great. So I have several interested possible clients and we'll see how it goes. This is my first dovetail neck joint since the first 5 or so guitars that I made and it was probably the fastest and easiest neck set I've ever had. Hmmmm, Maybe Bruce D is on to something here. The back of this guitar is an orphaned piece of curly mahogany that lost it's matching sides to my old side bender last year, so I found a set of sides (unfortunately not curly) and used it for this. The fingerboard is Madagascar Rosewood but doesn't it look like BRW. The bridge will be a mustachio shape of matching Mad RW. Can't wait to get those new OLF D'Addarios on there. |
